All horizontal models use a mechanical (diesel) or electric main drive with hydraulic auxiliary systems for feeding and discharge, and a 1,200 mm discharge belt running at 130 m/min with a 4.3 m discharge height.

Design features of the WeiDong horizontal series

1. Discharge belt conveyor. An integrated discharge conveyor runs smoothly, does not spill material, reduces wear and does not track off, so the machine spends less time on maintenance.

2. Integrated control system. The monitoring and control system displays oil pressure, oil temperature, coolant temperature, speed and voltage, monitors engine functions, and supports diagnosis and recording of operating data on site or remotely.

3. Pressing feed system. An overhead hydraulic swing feed roller, driven by a hydraulic cycloidal motor through a reducer, works with a hooked feed chain. The feed chute is lined with manganese-steel wear plate, and the large opening accepts logs without pre-cutting in many cases.

4. Grinder knife roller. Blade mounting grooves are precision-machined, the pressure plates are manganese steel, and bottom-seat screw holes use replaceable bushing nuts, so worn threads are repaired by changing a nut rather than the roller. The reversible cutter assembly can be turned for a second working edge.

5. Main pulley. The main pulley is made of ductile iron for resistance to deformation and wear.

Configuration options

Each model can be configured with rotor and screen matched to the feedstock, the feed conveyor and discharge arrangement, magnetic separation where metal is expected, and remote control and project-specific safety equipment. Engine, motor and electrical brands are confirmed per project.

Tub grinder or horizontal grinder?
