Palm Oil Plantation Residue (EFB, Trunks, Fronds)
WeiDong tub grinders turn oil-palm empty fruit bunches (EFB), trunks and fronds into compost, mulch or boiler fuel, including on a plantation in Malaysia. The WD3600C crawler tub grinder works on soft plantation soil at a typical 25–40 t/h; wet, long-fibred EFB needs a trial with real material.
What this application demands
Wet, fibrous residue
EFB and fronds are wet and long-fibred and can bridge or wrap; feed rate, screen and rotor are tested with real material.
Soft ground
Crawler chassis work on soft, wet plantation soil and reposition along replanting blocks.
Replanting volumes
Felled trunks during replanting create large volumes in a short period; trunks, fronds and root bases are kept in separate streams.
End use
Ground palm residue is used as compost, mulch, boiler fuel or for field reuse; the output size follows the end use.

Can a tub grinder process palm trunks?
Yes. WeiDong 3600-series tub grinders process oil-palm trunks and fronds; trunk size, moisture and the knife or hammer rotor are confirmed for each plantation.
Tub grinder or horizontal grinder for EFB?
Loose, bulky EFB can be processed in a tub grinder when loading is consistent; if long wet fibres bridge or wrap, a horizontal grinder or a two-stage line may suit better. A representative trial decides.
